(I know this from experience)
A digital installation by Jarrett Hendrix
Funded by the Hyattsville 2025 Corridor Investment Grant
Wet Shoes Will Melt If You Put Them In The Oven To Dry (I know this from experience) is a collection of digital art pieces that explore the beautiful combination of art and motion.
Located on the corner of Gallatin Street, and Baltimore Avenue in Hyattsville, Maryland (Look for the neon sign that says Peep Show)
About the displays:
There are two displays being used for this installation:
The first involves a large projection on the wall of the Pyramid Atlantic Arts building that runs from 8pm - 2am each night. The projection includes a series of rotating videos.
The second display involves a smaller 7 inch monitor that is mounted on the front of the display that plays another series of rotating videos. This display plays 24 hours a day.
Show time for the projection is every night from 8pm - 2am
The Rig:
ViewSonic Laser Projector
7 inch digital display monitor
Two 4K digital media players
Projector mount
Custom Built Box to house equipment and support the projector and monitor
Installation and Testing:
Here’s the installation and testing for both the projector and the smaller screen in the front. It is actually set to run starting on Friday, May 8th from 8pm - 12am. Someone suggested a little later into the night, so that time might change to 2am.
